The East Fork Fire Cadet Program is a non-profit long range recruitment program designed to introduce young men and women to the
firefighting and emergency medical service industry as either a career or avocation. Those interested must be between the ages of 15 and 18 years old and in tenth,
eleventh or twelfth grade.
The Fire Cadet Program is based on a unique and dynamic relationship the District have with the Boy Scouts of America
Exploring/Learning for Life program, which is based on the following five areas of emphasis:
The District match their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of
activities that helps young women and men pursue their special interests in the firefighting and emergency medical service industry.
The Fire Cadet Program is designed to pre-train as well as retain young women and men within the District. The advantage of this
program is that each volunteer fire department with Cadet Members will have trained volunteers, ready to serve the community at age 18.
The Fire Cadet Program is a highly visible, positive force within the community setting role models and educating area youth, as well
as the community at large, about careers in the firefighting and emergency medical service industry.
