Joe Turek passed on following a motor vehicle collision in a hospital in Texas. Joe was an exceptional person in many ways. He was
first, foremost and always a United States Marine. He was a long time member of East Fork Fire through the Johnson Lane Volunteers. Joe taught many of us in the
various ELF classes through the years. He volunteered with Douglas County Communications following his retirement as an East Fork volunteer where he designed the
radio system we use today. His injuries were sustained during a motorcycle accident on a veteran's ride to D.C.: two things that were very dear to him.
A celebration of life was held on December 10, 2017 at the Johnson Lane Firehouse. Here are a few pictures from that event.
