On April 1, 2011, the Douglas County Emergency Management and Douglas County Local Emergency Planning Committee presented a class by Gordon Graham focusing
on the discipline of Risk Management and how it applies to hazardous materials operations.
The presenter of this action packed seminar was Mr. Gordon Graham, an internationally recognized 33-year veteran of California Law Enforcement (retired), a practicing attorney
(27 years) with a background and formal education and experience as a risk manager. He is President of Lexipol - and co-founder of the popular fire service website, www.firefighterclosecalls.com
Mr. Graham combines his vast knowledge in multiple areas with great humor with the goal of educating the attendee in how to better protect themselves, their organization, and their
communities from the nasty consequences that occur when things do not go right.
His topic of focus for the day centered on the discipline of Risk Management. Most of what we do in life (and at work) ends up going right. The sad news is that some things don't
go right and when that occurs there are nasty consequences - things have gone wrong. And there is usually a reason why things go wrong.
